Summary

An in-depth, yet non-mathematical article introducing the concept of zero-point fluctuations (ZPF). It also gives a review of the history of treating gravity and inertia in physics, starting with Galileo and ending with still debated theories in quantum physics and stochastic electrodynamics (SED). Some implications of ZPF to astrophysics (cosmological constant, Mach's principle, etc.) are also addressed. A good read for getting an overview without having to tackle any equations.
